Car Insurance Quotes

My goal as your agent is to exceed your expectations. My company has a strong rating and an auto policy that can be tailored to suit any person, business, and activity.  If you are a farmer or a contractor, QBE Farmers Union Insurance has an auto policy to fulfill your needs. Service and dependability are very important; you don’t have to call a 1-800 number to find help when you have an accident.  Many clients call me at home, weekdays after hours or weekends.  Some clients drive out to my place when they need assistance.

  • Are you a homeowner?
  • Do you have prior insurance?
  • Do you have defensive driver training?

Auto Insurance in North Dakota

These are some of the discount options available with our auto policies:
Young drivers can get an occasional driver rate until they are 18 years of age, and can also qualify for good student discounts.  Proactive and longevity are also auto discount options. In small towns autos may qualify for farm rates, which are more competitive.
Some of the questions asked about auto insurance are:
Can I insure my motor home or my travel trailer on my auto policy?
Yes, these autos and ATV’s and snowmobiles all can be insured on one policy.  Rental car and towing are available on all autos, some companies only allow towing on full coverage vehicles, and this is not the case at QBE Farmers Union Insurance.
Does my auto policy cover someone else if I let them drive my vehicle?
The answer is yes. Here in North Dakota, we have permissible use, so as long as you have given them permission to use your auto, your auto policy will extend to that driver.
Will my rates go up or will I be denied coverage if I use my insurance?
Comprehensive claims do not add a surcharge to policies.  If you have an accident, and you are at fault, you do have the option to report this as a claim, or take care of the damages yourself. I tell my clients that frequency more than severity will warrant the chance of them being non-renewed.   Usually $1,000 is the threshold where you will see a surcharge.  Over the limit, the surcharge is higher; under the limit, the surcharge is lower.  The surcharge remains on a policy for 3 years.
North Dakota has a minimum limits that are 25/50/25; these I feel are not adequate limits for today’s auto exposures.  Only if the customer insists, will I quote the “bare bones” limits.  Otherwise I suggest the 100/300/100 or the higher 250/500/250 limits.
North Dakota also has the basic $30,000 PIP for injuries in an accident.  I recommend this coverage as now all policies cover their own drivers.  For example, if you are injured in an accident that is not your fault, you will file a claim with your own auto company for your medical bills resulting from the accident.   And everyone else in the vehicle files their own claims.  This helps from exhausting the limit if more than one are involved in the accident.
Some of the most common things I add on to a policy are: towing, rental, and gap towing. These are not only helpful when you need to be towed, but also if you are locked out or have a flat tire.  I recommend this to everyone, unless they specify that they have AAA.
Rental coverage is especially important if you have only the one vehicle.  Your insurance will cover rental of another auto if your auto has been in an accident and you are at fault.  Rental also is good if your auto is totaled and you need transportation until you find out about your claim or purchase another vehicle.
I also recommend gap coverage on new vehicles, as they depreciate as you drive them off the lot. If your vehicle is totaled,  you could come up short on your loan without gap coverage.
When someone needs auto insurance, I look at what they do for a living and what their exposures are.
How much are you driving in the “peak hours”?
What is the book value remaining on the vehicle?
These all are things that make your policy different from your neighbor's policy.
My clients like having all their autos are on one policy, and that the policy is reader friendly.  They also like the service unit feature to the policy.  Our pricing is very affordable.
