Gillette WY Auto Insurance
Three most common questions regarding auto insurance:
- What is comprehensive (or other than collision) coverage? This is a physical damage coverage for your vehicle that pays for accidental damage caused by anything not specifically excluded by the policy. These include:
- Breakage of glass
- Hail, water or flood
- Fire
- Theft or larceny
- Explosion or earthquake
- Windstorm
- Missiles or falling objects
- Malicious mischief or vandalism
- Riot or civil commotion
- Contact with a bird or animal
- What is Uninsured/underinsured motorists BI coverage? Covers bodily injury for you or anyone else in your vehicle when the other party in an accident is at-fault and has no insurance or lower bodily injury liability limits than you have on your policy. Limits will appear with a per person and per accident limit. Example: 100/300 means $100,000 in Bodily injury per person and $300,000 in Bodily injury per accident regardless of how many people are injured.
NFU does not offer uninsured/underinsured property damage coverage—this is covered under collision coverage.
- Why shouldn't’ I purchase a policy with state minimum liability limits?
Every state has different minimum liability limits. Wyoming requires a minimum of $25,000 per person in bodily injury coverage, $50,000 per accident in bodily injury coverage and $20,000 in Property damage coverage. With the rising cost of health care and value of vehicles, these limits do not provide much protection for an accident with serious injuries or more than one vehicle involved. Most customers will purchase limits of $100,000 per person/$300,000 per accident/$100,000 property damage with Uninsured/Underinsured limits of $100,000 per person/$300,000 per accident.
Commonly recommended riders for auto policies:
- Loan/Lease Gap—pays the difference between the Actual Cash Value of the insured vehicle and what is still owed on the loan or lease in the case of a total loss.
- Rental Reimbursement—Covers expenses for a rental car when your car is in the shop for a comprehensive or collision claim. This coverage can save you money and aggravation when you are short a vehicle.
- Towing—very inexpensive ($8 per vehicle per six month term), this coverage pays for towing or roadside assistance up to $300 with no deductible. This coverage applies to lockouts, running out of gas, breakdowns, flat tires, etc.
QBE Farmers Union is a standard carrier designed for customers with a good driving record and a good insurance history. We have access to other companies for those insureds without prior insurance, with multiple at-fault accidents or violations or requiring an SR-22.
Give us a call—we’ll work to find an auto policy that is right for you at the right price!
